The World Cup Is Coming to New England and Western MA Fans Have a Great Option

Soccer fans traveling by charter bus from Western Massachusetts to Gillette Stadium for a 2026 FIFA World Cup match with TravelKuz

When the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off at Gillette Stadium on June 13, it will be the biggest sporting event to hit New England in decades. Seven matches featuring England, France, Morocco, Scotland, Norway, Ghana, and Haiti — plus a Round of 32 knockout and a quarterfinal — all happening about 90 miles east of Springfield.

For groups in Western Massachusetts, the distance is manageable. The logistics, on the other hand, are a completely different story. That is where TravelKuz comes in.

What Western MA Fans Need to Know About Gillette This Summer

Gillette Stadium normally offers around 20,000 parking spaces. For the World Cup, FIFA security zones and event infrastructure will reduce that to approximately 5,000 — a 75% cut. The MBTA is running expanded commuter rail trains from Boston’s South Station, with up to 14 trains per match carrying about 20,000 fans. But that service does not reach Western Massachusetts. If you are in Springfield, Northampton, Greenfield, or Amherst, the MBTA commuter rail is simply not an option.

And the traffic situation is no longer theoretical. On March 26, 2026, Gillette hosted Brazil vs. France as a World Cup preview friendly — a single match, well before the tournament even begins. CBS Boston reported that the Foxborough police chief described the traffic as having flat-out “sucked,” that GPS apps routed hundreds of cars onto Mechanic Street and other residential back roads through town, and that some fans chose to walk 3.5 miles along train tracks rather than sit in gridlock. The France national team coach said his bus barely made it to the stadium on time. That was one preview match. The World Cup brings seven matches at full FIFA scale, with full international security operations layered on top.

The Full Match Schedule at Gillette

  • Saturday, June 13 — Haiti vs. Scotland, 9:00 PM
  • Tuesday, June 16 — Playoff Winner vs. Norway, 6:00 PM
  • Friday, June 19 — Scotland vs. Morocco, 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday, June 23 — England vs. Ghana, 4:00 PM
  • Friday, June 26 — Norway vs. France, 3:00 PM
  • Monday, June 29 — Round of 32 (TBD), 4:30 PM
  • Thursday, July 9 — Quarterfinal (TBD), 4:00 PM

Five of seven matches kick off on weekday afternoons between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. From Springfield, that means arriving at Gillette in the middle of the evening commute on Route 1 — the only road in and out of the stadium.

Why Charter Bus Is the Western MA Answer

A round trip from Springfield to Foxborough is around 190 to 200 miles. For a group of 30, 40, or 50 people, coordinating that drive across 10 to 15 separate cars is a recipe for a fragmented, exhausting day. A TravelKuz charter bus simplifies everything — one pickup point in Western MA, one comfortable coach ride, one organized arrival as a group. After the match, the bus is waiting. Everyone rides home together.

TravelKuz has been providing charter bus and group transportation for communities across Western Massachusetts and Vermont for generations. We are a nearly century-old, fifth-generation family business that knows these roads and these communities inside and out. Book Before Summer Demand Peaks

An estimated 2 million visitors are expected in the Greater Boston region during the World Cup window. Charter bus availability across Massachusetts will be at a premium throughout the entire tournament — seven matches over four weeks, and every group from Boston to the Berkshires trying to get to Foxborough. If your group is going to any match this summer, securing your bus now gives you the best options on vehicle size, pricing, and timing.
